Arsenal continue to eye additional recruits in the transfer market ahead of the 2018-19 Premier League season and Unai Emery is understood to be seeking improvements in his wide positions.
The Gunners lost Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United in January and, although Henrikh Mkhitaryan was signed in return, are seeking the addition of a top-class winger to strengthen the squad in the final third.
An ambitious move for Barcelona starlet Ousmane Dembele has been touted, after the 21-year-old’s turbulent first campaign in Catalonia, and he has been identified as the ‘dream signing’ for head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.
However, according to Football.London, a deal is unlikely unless the LaLiga champions approve a loan exit. Speaking in a fans Q&A, Arsenal reporter Charles Watt said:
“Demebele on his own would cost far more than whatever money comes in from those potential sales. Mislintat would love Dembele, that would be his dream signing and he would slot in perfectly as well. But unless Barca decide to send him out on loan, it’s not going to happen.”
