Arsenal are accustomed to having to fend off interest in their star but now face a different sort of battle, with reports indicating a key figure behind the scenes is being pursued.

The Sun cites reports indicating that Arsenal’s chief executive has emerged as a target for giants AC Milan, who are looking to overhaul their off-field team in order to become financially stable.

director Giovanni Carnevali is also a candidate for AC Milan, who are now under the control of  US hedge fund Elliott Management Corporation after former owner Yonghong Li defaulted on his debts.
