Arsenal have impressed with their transfer activity in the market so far this summer but Unai Emery’s side look set for disappointment in their pursuit of a player who impressed at the World Cup.

The Gunners, alongside Premier League rivals Chelsea, have both been attributed with interest in Russia star Aleksandr Golovin after his performances for the World Cup quarter-finalists made an exit from CSKA Moscow likely.

However, Tuttosport claim Serie A champions Juventus are pursuing a deal for the 22-year-old and currently stand as the favourites to complete a deal, fresh after securing the astonishing capture of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Golovin is said to have personally contacted Juventus to display his desire to join Massimiliano Allegri’s side this summer and would prefer to move to Turin rather than the Premier League.

However, the price may be an issue for Juventus after their mammoth signing of Ronaldo depleted their funds and outgoings will likely have to be secured before they can swoop for Golovin.
