Arsenal have endured a busy summer so far, landing Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno as new signings while waving goodbye to Per Mertesacker, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.
New Gunners boss Unai Emery continues to work hard to bolster his squad ahead of his debut campaign in the Premier League and another major signing is on the cards, according to The Daily Mail.
Following weeks of reports and speculation, it is stated that Arsenal will finalise the signing of Uruguay international Lucas Torreira from Italian side Sampdoria this week – landing the 22-year-old on a deal worth around £25m.
Torreira is currently starring with his nation at the World Cup, catching the eye with his fine performance against Uruguay as La Celeste secured their place in the quarter-finals of the tournament, and a deal will not be confirmed until after his nation’s involvement at the World Cup.
However, Arsenal will finalise negotiations with Sampdoria this week and Torreira will join ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
