Arsenal have invested heavily in the squad under new manager Unai Emery but the Spaniard is eyeing further additions, with a priority being a new winger.
The Gunners are short of options following Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to Manchester United in January, with Danny Welbeck surplus to requirements, and have now been put on alert following reports that a target is pushing for a move.
According to The Sun, Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey is looking to seal a move to the Premier League before the English transfer window closes on the 9th August.
The 20-year-old, born in Jamaica but eligible to play for England, is tied with the Bundesliga side until 2022 but they would struggle to fend off offers in the region of the £40m mark – with Bailey’s representatives set to hold talks with interested parties in the next week.
Arsenal may struggle to match that price-tag without approving departures but are ready to listen to offers for a number of players within their squad.
