Arsenal have been handed a boost in the market in the chase for Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, following a sequence of events in the past week.

The France World Cup winner is said to be furious following the signing of Malcom from Bordeaux, believing it shows a lack of faith in the former Borussia Dortmund man, and is seeking assurances ahead of the new season.

Spanish outletĀ SportĀ states Dembele’s agent has flown to Catalonia to hold crunch talks with the club’s hierarchy to discuss his role for the forthcoming season, as he is desperate not to find himself second-fiddle in the pecking order.

Barcelona remain firm in their stance that the 21-year-old will not be offloaded but the situation could change if Dembele makes it clear he wants an exit – and he would be the dream signing for head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, who played a key role in his previous transfer to Dortmund.
