Unai Emery has been busy with transfer activity since taking the helms at Arsenal following the departure of long-serving boss Arsene Wenger.

The Spaniard has already led the Gunners to secure the services of Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, while at the time of writing deals for Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi are on the verge of completion.

19-year-old Guendouzi arrives as one for the future and reports cited by Metro indicate that Emery played a pivotal role in persuading the teenage talent to move to the Emirates Stadium from Lorient – snubbing interest from Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain.

After being recommended by head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, Emery’s personal touch helped to secure a deal and the France U20 international is set to join in a deal worth £7m and will sign a four-year contract with the Gunners.

Along with Torreira, the arrival will take Arsenal’s number of signings this summer up to five.
