French outlet RTL France state that Premier League rivals Chelsea are locked in advanced talks with OGC Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri, who is also a target for the Gunners.
The Ivory Coast international is poised to leave the French Riviera this summer and a move to the Premier League looks likely, although Arsenal will have to move quickly if they want to land the 26-year-old ahead of their London rivals.
Seri has reportedly been identified by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as an ideal recruit for the FA Cup champions, who like Arsenal are seeking to return to the Premier League’s top-four after failing to secure Champions League football for next term.
Seri provided seven goals and nine assists during the Ligue 1 season and no agreement on a fee is yet to be reached.
