midfielder Jack has been urged to turn his back on the rivals and to seal a move across the capital by a former player.

The international sees his future at Stadium shrouded by speculation as he enters the final weeks of his contract with Arsenal and the likelihood of him leaving on a free is increasing by the day.

Arsenal are keen for him to put pen to paper on a new deal but Wilshere is looking for first-team assurances which are unable to offer, which has alerted a number of sides within the Premier League.

One club linked with a move for Arsenal’s academy graduate is West Ham, with new boss keen on securing his services, and former Gunners man Paul Mariner has urged Wilshere to complete a transfer.

Speaking to ESPN FC, he said:

“I think if he goes to West Ham, he will be asked some serious questions, new manager in there. I would like to see Jack go to a new club. I think at West Ham there are in a little bit of rebuild phase, new manager comes in. Get yourself out there, Jack. Show everybody what you have got.”
