New Arsenal boss Unai Emery is eyeing major improvements to his ranks ahead of his debut campaign in the Premier League and is seemingly keen on bolstering his attacking options.

The Gunners have already added the services of Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner to their ranks, signing the 34-year-old on a free transfer from Juventus, and will now turn their attention towards additions in the final third.

Portuguese outlet A Bola state Sporting Lisbon have rejected an offer of €30m from Arsenal for the services of 22-year-old Gelson Martins, who excelled for the club last season by scoring 23 goals across all competitions.

Sporting have been rocked by a number of off-field controversies, which have led to Rui Patricio and Daniel Podence cancelling their contracts at the club, and Gelson Martins could do similar – though he’s keen to leave on good terms.

Martins has a €60m release clause in his contract with the Portuguese side but they’re willing to do a deal if their price-tag of €45m is met.
