Arsenal are eyeing significant additions to their ranks this summer after missing out on Champions League football once again but Unai Emery’s side have been handed a huge blow in the market.
The Gunners have been widely attributed with an interest in OGC Nice’s Ivory Coast international Jean-Michel Seri, said to be available for around £35m this summer, but the north London giants look set to miss out.
Seri’s agent, Franklin Mala, told Radio Kiss Kiss that his client as opened discussions with Serie A runners-up Napoli and is keen on a move to Naples.
“We are in talks with Napoli and he’s tempted by the idea of wearing the jersey. He would really like to play for Napoli and Carlo Ancelotti could get the best out of his characteristics.”
Seri’s arrival could pave the way for Jorginho to complete a proposed move to Manchester City and the offer of Champions League football from Napoli could be a driving force behind an agreement.
