Arsenal are seeking improvements to their midfield ranks this summer with Santi Cazorla set to leave the Emirates Stadium and Jack Wilshere also potentially poised for an exit.
Granit Xhaka is already much-maligned, with the midfielder, who will feature for Switzerland vs Japan on Friday, off to Russia where he will be highly fancied in the yellow card markets for 2018 World Cup betting activity, emphasising the fact that reinforcements are required in the middle of the park.
The Gunners have been linked with a variety of options and a new name has been added to the mix, as reports from France cited by GFFN indicate Unai Emery’s side are pursuing Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.
23-year-old Sanson impressed with the French side last season as they forced their way through to the Europa League final, before being defeated by Atletico Madrid, and it’s suggested the former France U21 international is seeking new pastures this summer.
However, Arsenal will face fierce competition in the market from London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea, who are both linked with a swoop, and the fact that Mauricio Pochettino’s side can offer Champions League football may prove to be decisive.
Tottenham are touted as the club with the highest amount of interest in Sanson’s services and Arsenal will have to make a significant offer if they’re to pull ahead in the chase.
