Arsenal are entering new waters under the guidance of former Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery and a number of departures are expected to take place at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The Gunners have already lost the services of skipper Per Mertesacker, who has retired to take a role with the academy, and are now waving goodbye to another experienced player from within their ranks.

Spanish outfit Villarreal have confirmed that Santi Cazorla has returned to the LaLiga side for a second spell, after seeing his contract with Arsenal reach it’s conclusion.

The Spain international endured a frustrating end to his time with the Gunners due to consistent injury issues and will hope that his recovery allows him to feature for Villarreal by the time the new LaLiga season comes around.

However, the 33-year-old is yet to be offered a deal by the Yellow Submarines and will instead be handed the opportunity to prove his fitness to the club next month.
