Arsenal are venturing into a new era this summer following the departure of long-serving manager Arsene Wenger but their quest for the ideal replacement could suffer a significant blow.
Amongst those being linked with the soon to be vacant role at the Emirates Stadium is Gunners legend Patrick Vieira, who’s caught the eye with his performances in charge of MLS franchise New York City FC and is tipped for a Premier League return.
However, it’s not just Arsenal that are eyeing a move for their former skipper as reports from Metro indicate that Everton are also considering making a move for the former France international, as they seek a replacement for the unpopular Sam Allardyce.
Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, who previously held a stake at Arsenal, is keen on appointing a fresh, young manager to take the helms at Goodison Park and 41-year-old Vieira is seen as the fitting choice.
