Arsenal’s first piece of business for the summer has been completed, with the Gunners appointing Unai Emery as the successor to Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium.
The Spaniard arrives swiftly after his exit from Paris Saint-Germain, where he won a domestic treble last season, and it’s reported he’s ready to back the Gunners in their pursuit of a highly-coveted midfield target.
The Daily Mail states Arsenal remain keen on OGC Nice ace Jean-Michel Seri and Emery, having targeted the Ivory Coast international during his time with PSG, is keen to add the 26-year-old to his squad in north London.
Also a reported target for Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, who can offer Champions League football and the chance to reunite with boss Lucian Favre, Arsenal can land the experienced midfielder for £35m if they match a clause in his contract.
Midfield is one of the key areas that Arsenal want to improve this summer, with the Gunners also keen to bolster their options in defence and add a new first-choice goalkeeper to their ranks.
