Arsenal are set to enter a new era following the departure of Arsene Wenger after 22 years in charge in north London and are set to announce his successor imminently.

Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery is poised to be confirmed as the Gunners’ new manager and it’s stated he’s identified the two members of the squad he wants to build around in the coming years.

The Sun claim that, during a presentation to the Arsenal hierarchy, the Spaniard made it clear he wants to build around Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsey, entering the final 12 months of his contract at the club, has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest sides but Arsenal are understood to be desperate to keep the three-time FA Cup winning hero at the club.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang has hit the ground running after signing for the Gunners in January in a club-record deal from Borussia Dortmund – scoring ten goals in 13 appearances, contributing a further four assists.
