Arsenal face a major rebuild this summer as the club begin the post Arsene Wenger era and a number of changes are expected within the squad.
Plenty of question marks continue to hover over the heads of a number of players at the Emirates Stadium but the future of one fan favourite is reportedly set to be secured this week.
The Daily Mirror claim the lengthy transfer saga orientating around Jack Wilshere will come to an end this week with the England international, who missed out on a World Cup squad, penning a new deal.
Wilshere has been locked in negotiations with the Gunners throughout the season, with his current deal expiring in just a few months time, and has attracted interest from a number of clubs within the Premier League and on the continent.
However, Arsenal were always keen to renew the deal of their academy graduate and have raised their offer after seeing Wilshere prove his worth this season, putting his fitness woes behind him by featuring in 38 matches across all competitions.
Wilshere is poised to sign a three-year deal with the option of a 12 month extension, which will tie the 26-year-old down for the prime years of his career.
