Arsenal are seeking major additions in the transfer market this summer after another campaign where the Gunners have underperformed but it seems like they’ll be set for disappointment in one particular chase.

The Europa League semi-finalists have consistently been named as potential suitors for Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele, who has endured a turbulent first year in Catalonia after fighting back from injury and having to force his way into Ernesto Valverde’s side.

Speculation has suggested that the France international is frustrated and wants to leave Camp Nou but he’s insisted that’s not the case, telling Telefoot he plans to stay at Barcelona for a long time.

“I signed a five-year contract at Barcelona. I’m going to be in Barcelona a very long time. I’m not going to leave after a season. I’m not in my best form, but little by little, it’s coming back. I still have to work on my cardio because I get tired very quickly.”

“At Barcelona, I have a better lifestyle. At Dortmund, I didn’t have a great lifestyle and I didn’t get injured, so it’s not that.”

When directly asked about his fight for regular opportunities, Dembele added:

“It’s Barca, it’s just the way it is. I’m happy with Coutinho’s arrival. As for Griezmann, I don’t know if he’s going to come. [The senior players] give me advice, they help me a lot on the pitch. It’s difficult to adapt to Barcelona.”
