Arsenal are among the teams keeping a close eye on Benfica midfielder Joao Felix, according to O Jogo.

The Portuguese newspaper is usually among the most reliable of the country’s tabloids, and it reports that the Gunners, Manchester City, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco and AC Milan are monitoring the 18 year old.

Felix has a release clause set at €60m, but it is believed that Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira would consider offers north of €40m (£35m).

The attacking midfielder is already a Portugal Under 21 international, but has yet to play for his club’s first team. He was reportedly watched by scouts from Milan when Portugal’s Under 21 team faced Switzerland at the end of last month.

He scored in the 4-2 victory against the Swiss, as he did a few days earlier in the 7-0 thrashing of Liechtenstein. The Portuguese starlet can play right across the midfield, although he generally plays in the number 10 role or on the left wing, cutting in from the flank onto his favoured right foot.
