Arsenal are set to enter a new era after the news that Arsene Wenger will step down at the end of the season, leaving the Gunners looking for a new manager for the first time in over two decades.

A host of names are being linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium and The Sun cites reports claiming OGC Nice boss Lucien Favre is one of the option on Arsenal’s short-list, following his success on the French Riviera.

60-year-old Favre has excelled with Nice, guiding the club to a third-place finish last season and Europa League football, but they’ve struggled to remain competitive this season against the likes of PSG, Monaco and Marseille, leaving the club set for a wealth of departures this summer.

Favre could be one of those on the way out of the Allianz Riviera and it’s stated Arsenal would have to pay the small price of just £3.5m to bring the Swiss boss to the Premier League, although they do still have their eyes on other candidates.
