Arsenal’s search for midfield improvements has seen the Gunners join the chase for a highly-rated midfield talent, as they prepare for the likely departures of Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla.

The two experienced aces are poised to leave upon the expiration of their contracts in just a few months time, leaving Arsenal in the market for replacements, and The Daily Mail name the Gunners as one of six Premier League sides chasing the services of James Maddison.

Maddison, 21, has excelled with Norwich City this season and his services have not gone unnoticed, earning opportunities for England’s U21 side last year and making three caps for the Three Lions to date.

Arsenal face competition in the market from Manchester City, Tottenham, Everton, Brighton and Southampton in the market, whilst Newcastle United and West Ham have both previously been attributed with an interest.

Maddison has netted 15 goals this season, earning a nomination for PFA Young Player of the Year, and is rated at around £30m by the Canaries.
