Arsenal were certainly busy in January, landing high profile additions in the form of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but the Gunners were still linked with other additions during the mid-season window.
The loss of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United has left a hole in Arsenal’s attack and reports over the course of the New Year widely attributed Arsene Wenger’s side with an interest in Bordeaux’s Brazilian starlet Malcom.
Arsenal are said to remain interested in the services of the 21-year-old, along with Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich, but the Gunners have been handed a blow as reports reveal another European giant has entered the running.
France Football, cited by Sports Witness, state that Paris Saint-Germain are the latest side to express an interest in the South American, who is likely to cost in excess of €40m this summer.
However, Arsenal will be encouraged by the fact that securing new recruits isn’t high on PSG’s to do list this summer, with the French champions elect set to focus on finding a new manager and offloading players from their squad.
