Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu will be playing in the Premier League next season, according to the president of his old club.

The Turkish international is rumoured to be on Arsenal and Manchester United’s radar, and Altinordu chief Mehmet Seyit Ozkan says a move to England is a distinct possibility:

“Caglar Soyuncu is in the Premier League. Big clubs are after him.”

Soyuncu has also been linked with Bayern Munich but it seems that transfer is far more unlikely:

“There’s not much information about that, but I’ve heard that they’re watching him.”

The 21 year old moved to Freiburg from Turkish second division club Altinordu in 2016, and he has been a first team regular for the Bundesliga club during both of his two seasons in Germany so far.

He has played almost all of his senior games at centre half, and has been a regular starter at international level for Turkey since he started a friendly against Moldova in March last year.

At the end of last month, Daily Mail columnist Simon Jones reported that Gunners chief scout Sven Mislintat is a big fan of Soyuncu with the player rated as highly as £30m by Freiburg.
