Speculation continues to orientate over the head of Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, as another disappointing campaign has led to questions about the long-serving Frenchman’s suitability.
Whilst it’s understood that Wenger won’t walk away from the two-year deal he only signed last summer, Arsenal’s hierarchy could wield their power and seek a change in approach- with a number of names being linked with a potential role in north London.
One of those widely linked with a move to the Premier League is former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel but it seems that Arsenal face a growing fight to land the services of the 44-year-old German.
Reports cited by TalkSport claim that Spanish giants Athletic Bilbao have joined the hunt for Tuchel’s services, as they seek the right man to take them forward after losing Ernesto Valverde to runaway La Liga leaders Barcelona last summer.
Athletic, who famously have a rule stipulating only Basque players can represent the side, would certainly present a different challenge for Tuchel.
