Arsenal face a stern battle this summer to rejuvenate their under-performing side but they will have to fight to keep some of the core members of their squad at the Emirates Stadium.
Veteran captain Per Mertesacker is due to retire upon the expiration of his contract, whilst injury-plagued Santi Cazorla could also be on the move. However, the biggest blow could come in the form of England international Jack Wilshere.
The academy graduate has just a few months remaining on his current deal in north London and talks regarding a renewal have hit a standstill, as Wilshere is unhappy with the offer currently on the table- which orientates around bonuses, rather than a lump fee.
Arsenal are yet to change that offer and could miss out, as The Times states Everton are ready to make a stunning swoop for the midfielder- and will offer him a staggering bonus of £8m as a signing on fee.
The Toffees were high spenders last summer, bringing in the likes of Wayne Rooney and Gylfi Sigurdsson, but have struggled for form this season under the guidance of Sam Allardyce.
It remains to be seen whether the former England boss remains at Goodison Park but the Merseyside outfit are eyeing a rebuild and Wilshere is a core part of their plans.
