Arsenal are looking to significantly bolster their midfield ranks during the summer transfer window, with the Gunners at risk of losing a number of their stars.
Both Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are rapidly approaching the end of their contracts, with no sign of a renewal being agreed, whilst there is concern at the club that Aaron Ramsey could also leave on a free transfer in 2019.
As such, a host of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium but it seems that Arsenal could miss out on a top-target, as Liverpool are confident of beating the Gunners to the services of Italy international Jorginho.
The Daily Mirror claims the £50m-rated midfielder is a target for Arsenal and Manchester United but Jurgen Klopp’s side believe they lead the chase in the race for the 26-year-old.
Liverpool are seeking the midfielder as a replacement for Emre Can, who’s set to leave Anfield on a free transfer this summer.
