Jack Wilshere’s future at Arsenal remains up in the air, with no progress regarding an extension being made, but the England international has already infuriated one interested party.

The Sun states that Spanish side Real Betis believes that Wilshere used their reported interest in order to push for better terms at Arsenal, with the Seville outfit instead having little chance of signing the experienced midfielder.

Betis believed that Wilshere was interested in a move to La Liga and made an approach to the 26-year-old last summer, hoping to sign a pre-contractual agreement with the England international in January, but the club’s hierarchy are furious with a lack of progress.

They now believe that Wilshere used their interest to push for better terms in renewal talks with Arsenal, which have since reached a stalemate, though the Gunners have an offer on the table for Wilshere to consider.

An issue is the fact Wilshere is being asked to take a pay-cut at the Emirates Stadium, which the injury-plagued midfielder isn’t happy about.
