Arsenal are set for wholesale changes this summer as they look to improve upon what has been a disappointing campaign but their battle for an overhaul could see them going head-to-head with some of their Premier League rivals.
The calls for Arsene Wenger’s long-term association with the Gunners have been getting increasingly louder over recent weeks and one man linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium is former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.
46-year-old Enrique has taken a year away from football after leaving the Catalan giants last summer, where he won the Champions League, but is ready to return- though Chelsea have him as a leading candidate to replace Antonio Conte.
However, The Daily Star states Enrique is stalling on a potential move to Stamford Bridge due to the possibility of a position becoming available at Arsenal, where he’d prefer to take a job due to Chelsea’s reputation for regularly changing managers.
Paris Saint-Germain are also attributed with an interest in Enrique and it’s likely his services won’t be available at the end of the summer.
