Arsenal are looking to rejuvenate their ranks significantly this summer and could move away from veteran Petr Cech, after the experienced goalkeeper’s well documented troubles this season.

The former Chelsea man secured his 200th Premier League clean sheet in the recent victory over Watford but had to wait a number of months to reach the landmark, making a number of errors during a woeful run of form for Arsenal.

Now 36, it’s understood that Arsenal are looking for a long-term successor to the Czech Republic international and a major boost has been handed to the Gunners from the continent, suggesting a prime target is poised for a summer transfer.

French outlet L’Equipe have stated that Toulouse’s highly-rated young stopper Alban Lafont is set to leave the Ligue 1 strugglers this season, which could spark a scramble for his signature in the market.

Arsenal face competition with the likes of Napoli, Roma, Watford and Newcastle United for the signature of the 19-year-old, who’s widely regarded to be one of the finest young talents in European football.
