Arsenal are set for a major recruitment drive this summer to bolster their ranks and could revisit the situation regarding some of their previous targets.

The Gunners were reportedly interested in RB Leipzig ace Emil Forsberg last summer and could reignite their interest this year, where Forsberg will be looking to shine with Sweden in this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

26-year-old Forsberg is reportedly unhappy with life in the Bundesliga currently and will push for a summer exit- and respected journalist Raphael Honigstein has stated the player is desperate to move to the Premier League.

Speaking to The Totally Football Show, he said:

“Emil Forsberg has been in and out of the (RB Leipzig) team with injuries, and they’ve really missed him a lot. He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League.”

“He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig. I think that sort of team will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent.”

Arsenal are seeking a replacement for Alexis Sanchez this summer, after losing the Chilean to Manchester United in January, and Forsberg could be seen as the ideal fit.
