Jack Wilshere
Like Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere has given Arsenal years of service and handing him the captaincy this summer could be the key in getting the England midfielder to negotiate a new contract, with his current deal expiring this summer.
Wilshere, a graduate of the Arsenal academy, has long been mentioned as a potential future captain for the Gunners but the consistent injuries sustained by the 26-year-old have caused problems, leading him to spend last season on-loan with Bournemouth.
Since returning this year, Wilshere has become a regular starter once again for the Gunners and handing him the captaincy would prove to be a popular decision due to his passion, loyalty and the fact he’s English.
