Rob Holding
The 22-year-old has been one of Arsenal’s better purchases in recent seasons, with the young defender arriving from Bolton Wanderers without too much expectation but quickly showing his ability, now established as a future star.
However, first-team football has been difficult for Holding to secure on a permanent basis due to the wealth of competition he plays in that area, although the sale of Gabriel Paulista last summer shows the faith Arsene Wenger has in the young Englishman.
With Per Mertesacker on the way out, Holding could get increased opportunities next year but if his playing time isn’t going to be regular then a loan for him could be the best call.
