Arsenal find themselves in a transitional period and this summer is crucial, as the work behind the scenes in north London will start to provide an impact and the growing intentions of the club on the transfer market will become clear.

The Gunners have broken their club-record transfer deals twice in the past year, signing Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, showing their intent to compete with the European giants.

There is still plenty of work to do though and one of the more difficult challenges facing Arsene Wenger’s side is finding a long-term replacement for Santi Cazorla, who has been plagued with injuries in recent years and is unlikely to earn an extension to his deal.

Cazorla’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he’s unlikely to be able to play again until 2019. Therefore, even if he is handed new terms, Arsenal will need a replacement and these three players would be ideal.
