Arsenal are stuck in a period of transition and the summer transfer window could be their most crucial in years, as the Gunners look to rebuild their squad to claw their way back amongst the Premier League’s elite.
Sat eight points off the Champions League spots, Arsenal face the daunting prospect of a second consecutive season without involvement in Europe’s elite competition, unless Europa League glory is secured, and a major rebuild is required.
Changes were already made in January with the exits of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott all sanctioned, with the Gunners bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and young Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
There’s still plenty of deadwood at the Emirates Stadium though and Arsenal need to be ruthless come the end of the campaign, when exits for this trio need to go ahead.
