Besiktas captain Oguzhan Ozyakup is seriously considering a contract offer from Arsenal, according to Aksam (via Milliyet).
The Turkish newspaper is reporting that the 25 year old is still weighing up options with his contract due to expire in the summer.
Ozyakup was actually sold by the Gunners to Besiktas for €500,000 in 2012, and has gone on to make a successful career for himself in the Turkish Super Lig over the past six years.
However, the playmaker has reportedly had problems in negotiating a new deal with Besiktas. The club have been expected to offer a contract extension to the Turkish international, but the player’s form has dipped this season.
Aksam believe this is due to the interest being shown in him from Arsenal and a number of other clubs. They report that the player’s mind has been muddled by transfer talk, although performances in recent weeks suggest he may be returning to form.
This season, Ozyakup has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring no goals and providing six assists.
