Juventus are weighing up a move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Italian website reports that the Serie A champions are looking at targets in central midfield positions, and the 25 year old’s name has cropped up as a potential option.
The fact that Wilshere is available on a free transfer in the summer is likely the primary reason for Juve’s interest in the player.
The England international has yet to agree terms with Arsenal over a contract extension despite only having five months remaining on his current deal.
The Sun report that the Gunners want to cut his £90,000 a week wages, and offer more performance related bonuses, because of his poor injury record. Liverpool are however also sensing an opportunity to sign the central midfield player on a free transfer.
Along with Juve, the Reds are said to be looking at offering Wilshere a contract, with the Sun saying they would match his current £90k a week deal, trumping Arsenals’ reported offer.
