The Catalan publication reports the signing of Philippe Coutinho from has not deterred them from pursuing a move for the German international.

Meyer is available on a free in the summer, with his contract expiring in June, and are also said to be keeping a close eye on the midfield anchor man’s situation.

Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel revealed yesterday that the club are expecting a response from the midfielder about his future “soon.”

Meyer can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club he wishes, but will be determined to keep him after already losing another key player in to Bayern Munich.

Reports in Germany suggest have offered the 22 year old £93,000 a week to stay in the Bundesliga. Whether that will be enough to resist the likes of or Barcelona, we will have to wait and see.
