Arsenal have been handed a huge blow ahead of this weekend’s League Cup final with the news that Wembley hero Aaron Ramsey will be unavailable.

The Welshman has only played four games since the turn of the year due to a persistent groin problem, though he scored a hat-trick against Everton at the start of this month, and The Sun states he won’t be fit to play on Sunday.

Ramsey has already been ruled-out of the second-leg Europa League clash against Ostersunds, where Arsenal lead 3-0, and will not recover in time to feature in this weekend’s clash with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

His absence will likely mean that Granit Xhaka and Jack Wilshere will be the midfield pairing for the Gunners this weekend, in what will be the biggest test that the duo have faced- and Wilshere will have to fill a huge void.

However, Ramsey could take a spot on the bench although Arsene Wenger is not willing to gamble on his fitness as he needs him available for the remainder of the season.
