Arsenal scouts were in attendance to watch Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic in action at the weekend, according to O Jogo.

The Portuguese newspaper reports that representatives from the Gunners were at the Estadio da Luz to see the Serbian international play the full 90 minutes in Benfica’s 5-1 win over Rio Ave.

Zivkovic has been rarely used by manager Rui Vitoria this season, but the 21 year old was picked to start for the first time in the league since September in the convincing win.

Playing in an unfamiliar position in a central attacking midfield role, the Serbian reportedly play well, and caused Rio Ave trouble playing in between the lines of defence and midfield.

Ostensibly a winger who can play on either flank, Zivkovic has struggled somewhat in his second season in Portugal. He was signed on a free transfer from Partizan Belgrade in July 2016, and created 11 goals in 24 matches last campaign.

However this year, he has managed just nine starts, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
