Juventus have stepped up their pursuit of Genoa striker Pietro Pellegri, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper reports that Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are among the top European clubs looking to sign the teenager, but Juve are looking to beat their rivals to his signature.

The Bianconeri are said to have enquired about Pellegri’s availability when Genoa played Juventus on Monday evening.

The club’s sporting director Giorgio Perinetti reportedly told Juve that the Serie A club were looking to start the bidding at €30m (£26m) plus bonuses for the 16 year old.

Genoa are believed to want to sell the forward in the summer but Juventus’s plan would be to buy the Italian U19 international this month, and then send the player back on loan for 6-18 months.

Juve are said to have held talks with Pellegri’s agent Giuseppe Riso yesterday to advance negotiations. Whether they will succeed in signing the player in January, we will have to wait and see.
