Real Madrid will demand €60m (£53.2m) if Arsenal want to sign striker Karim Benzema, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish publication have consistently linked the Frenchman with a move to the Gunners over the past year, and their latest report suggests there is a huge gap between Real’s valuation of the player and Arsene Wenger’s.

Benzema has struggled for goals this season, and Real president Florentino Perez is said to be keen to offload the 30 year old. The problem is, the forward does not have many suitors that can afford him.

Wenger is reportedly a long time admirer of the Frenchman, but is only prepared to pay €40m (£35.5m) for the striker; €20m (£17.7m) lower than the price tag that Perez has set for the player.

Former France international Benzema only signed a new four year contract back in September, but speculation has been rife that he could be replaced, with Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi being the striker most heavily linked with a switch to the Bernabeu.
