Arsenal have joined Sevilla, Roma and Inter Milan in pursuing Bologna winger Simone Verdi, according to Calciomercato.com.
Earlier this week, the 25 year old confirmed he had turned down a move to Serie A leaders Napoli in order to remain with his current club.
Verdi has had a decent season with five goals and six assists in 20 Serie A appearances, and he was being pursued by the Maurizio Sarri’s side as a January recruit.
The Italian international however decided that he didn’t want to move clubs this month, which would suggest Arsenal’s interest would likely be in view to a summer switch.
Verdi could be a player that the Gunners are tracking to replace Theo Walcott. The 28 year old signed for Everton on Wednesday in a £20m deal, and Arsene Wenger is likely to be seeking a new right winger.
Bordeaux’s Malcom has been tipped as a potential signing but Wenger has ruled out making a move for the Brazilian, and Verdi could well be an alternative option.
