The agent of Napoli midfielder Jorginho has confirmed that the midfielder will consider any transfer proposals at the end of the season.
Speaking to Italian website TMW, Joao Santos ruled out a move taking place in the January transfer window, but he is more open to a switch taking place in the summer:
“He is currently in Brazil and will return to Italy this weekend. When it comes to the January transfer window, we’re not talking about anything. In June, and this is true of all players, we’ll see what offers arrive. From February 1, it all begins again.”
Jorginho has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a long time. Five years ago, when the midfielder was playing at Verona, the Gunners were reportedly tracking the anchor man.
Since then, he has been consistently reported to be a target for Arsenal, with the latest report coming only in November.
The 26 year old has been credited as one of the key reasons for Napoli topping the Serie A table this season, with his excellent passing dictating play in the heart of the Italian side’s midfield.
Jorginho’s current contract expires in 2020, and it’s likely that the agent’s comments are partly to encourage Napoli into starting negotiations over a new deal.
