Arsenal are interested in signing Borussia Monchegladbach centre half Jannik Vestergaard in the summer, according to TMW.
The Italian website reports that the Gunners are keen on the Danish international as a replacement for the retiring Per Mertesacker.
However, Arsenal are not the only club interested in Vestergaard. London rivals Tottenham are also keen on the defender, while Inter Milan are monitoring the centre back’s situation.
The Serie A side are said to be ready to make a move for the 25 year old in the January transfer window, but they can only afford to loan the player, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
If Gladbach turn down their loan bid, they will have to wait until the summer when the Gunners and Spurs will likely make their moves for the Dane, possibly starting a bidding war between the two Premier League teams and the Italian club.
