Arsenal have included RB Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg on their list of January transfer targets, according to Calciomercato.it.
The Swedish international has been linked with the Gunners in the past, but it is believed that Alexis Sanchez’s impending departure from the club could see them step up their interest in the 26 year old.
Forsberg’s club Leipzig are however reluctant to let any of their key players leave mid way through the season. Liverpool tried to bring forward the signing of Naby Keita from the summer to January but the Bundesliga club refused to do a deal.
It means that the earliest possible transfer for the midfielder is the summer, which could prove to be too late for Arsenal as they seek to strengthen their squad following Sanchez’s likely January exit.
Calciomercato.it report that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is also a big fan of Forsberg although, if they sign Sanchez, their interest in the Swedish star will likely dissipate.
