Juventus will attempt to rival Arsenal for Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Argentinian international has been tipped to replace Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates, but both the player’s club and his agent have denied they have had any contact with the Gunners.
Juve meanwhile are reportedly monitoring Pavon’s situation. The 21 year old is said to have a release clause in region of £28m (€31m), and Calciomercato believe this figure would likely prove too steep for the Serie A champions.
Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici has confirmed the buyout clause was agreed when the winger signed a new five year contract back in August, and that he would only leave if this fee was matched.
Whether the Gunners are actually interested in Pavon, we can’t be sure. The original report that indicated the club’s interest came from the Independent but with both his club and agent refuting the claims, it seems Arsenal’s interest is at best, in its early stages.
