Liverpool and Manchester City are the latest clubs to take an interest in Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal were heavily linked with the Ivorian over the summer, but interest seems to have cooled in recent months despite the Gunners’ being relatively limited in their options for offensive central midfield players.

The Daily Mail report that both City and Liverpool have been scouting Seri extensively in recent months, while Paris Saint-Germain still remain in the race for the 26 year old.

Despite Arsenal’s interest in the summer, the club reportedly never made a formal offer, and it was in fact Barcelona who were closest to sealing a move for the midfielder.

Seri’s switch to the Camp Nou however collapsed before the end of the summer transfer window, and the Ivorian international remains in Ligue One where he has struggled for form after an excellent 2016/17 campaign.

This season, he has scored one goal and provided four assists in 17 matches. Last year, the midfielder scored seven goals and provided nine assists in all competitions for Nice.
