Galatasaray have become favourites ahead of Arsenal and Monaco to sign Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, according to Mundo Deportivo journalist Ferran Martinez.
Sources closes to the Turkish international have told the Catalan publication that talks have begun with Galatasaray, and that the meetings have been “courteous and cordial.” However, the report also states that Arda’s representatives believe the Gunners and Monaco are still options that are still possible.
The player has been informed by Barcelona that they will do all they can to help a January move happen, with the midfielder unlikely to be given any game time. The 30 year old has been struggling with injuries this season, with back problems, a foot injury and another minor ankle problem limiting his ability to train.
It seems his lack of match fitness has soured relations between the player and manager Ernesto Valverde to the extent that he will not be picked when fit, and Arda now believes there is no way back for him stay at the Camp Nou.
