Arsenal and Tottenham are set to battle it out for Basel striker Dimitri Oberlin, according to Estadio Deportivo.
The Seville based newspaper reports that the two London clubs have joined Napoli and Sevilla in the race to sign the 20 year old. The Gunners have been linked with the Swiss under 21 international for a number of weeks, but Spurs have not been mentioned as a possible rival for the player.
Italian website TMW had reported that Arsenal, along with Sevilla, Napoli, Juventus, Roma, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United and Real Madrid had all been scouting Oberlin, while the Sun have said that Newcastle were weighing up a move for the forward.
The starlet is currently on loan at Basel from Red Bull Salzburg, but the Estadio Deportivo report that the Swiss champions won’t take up their option to sign the player for €5m at the end of the season. Instead, Salzburg will be looking to sell the striker for between €10m (£8.9m) and €15m (£13.2m).
