Juventus have revived their interest in Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi, according to Rai Sport (via Calciomercato.com).

The Bianconeri have looked at signing the German international in the past but their interest cooled after signing his fellow countryman Benedikt Howedes from Schalke in the summer.

The Juve centre back has however been plagued with injuries since his arrival in Turin, and he has managed just 68 minutes of first team action, coming against Crotone in a 3-0 win at the end of last month.

Howedes is expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time with a muscle injury, and it has forced Juventus’s hands into entering the January transfer market to find a replacement.

The Serie A champions’ primary target is Mustafi, but currently they are facing strong resistance from the Gunners, who have told Juventus the same thing they told Inter Milan back in August: the player is currently not for sale.
